The Division Project Finance Manager oversees all phases of the job costing process for the division/business unit. This position also supervises the project accounting staff to ensure that all projects are supported in achieving their designated financial outcomes. The Division Project Finance Manager works closely with the operations teams, clients and vendors to ensure timely and accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project life cycle. What you'll do: Assign, schedule, coach, counsel and manage performance of employees; communicate job expectations; plan, monitor, appraise, and review employee job contributions; recommend compensation actions; and communicate and ensure adherence to policies and procedures. Manage all aspects of the job costing process across the division from job setup to job closeout. Ensure job performance and profitability through collaboration with the operations teams and accounting teams. Ensure the financial integrity of project reporting through analysis of weekly and monthly job cost reports. Participate in monthly project review meetings and assist operations teams in the preparation of monthly PR packages. Assist with the consolidation of the division project review workbook. Review contract documentation and work with project teams to ensure proper cost code setup, initial budget upload, billing rate development, and initial billing process setup in compliance with contract documents and client requirements. Perform financial analysis of project costs versus budgets. Assist operations teams with maintaining accurate project status and budget information in the ERP. Support the project manager on contract compliance and reporting, ensuring compliance with contractual definitions of cost, general conditions, overhead, and fee. Ensure contract compliance requirements related to bonding, certificates of insurance, certified payroll and wrap up (OCIP/CCIP) insurance enrollment and reporting. Ensure accurate and timely processing of project accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash receipts. Manage vendor and subcontractor compliance with insurance, lien waivers, change orders, retention and W-9s to mitigate project risk. Develop and maintain summary reports to monitor project billings per contract requirements, over/under billings, payment terms and receivable aging. Work with project teams to resolve outstanding payment issues. Forecast cash flow, track project performance, and recommend measures to improve the same. Assure internal control processes and compliance. Research and resolve complex accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a timely manner. Play an active role in managing external project cost audits. Ensure project teams are able to effectively use ERP and related systems for planning, recording and managing projects and financials. Provide training as needed to ensure users understand processes and IT systems related to their financial transactions. What you'll need to be successful: Expert accounting knowledge Able to review, understand and interpret client's accounting requirements and cost of the work definition on a project by project basis Able to influence and lead a team to expected outcomes Strong organization skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skill, ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Able to maintain strong client relations and provide good customer service. Proven ability to effectively prioritize work, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure. Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion. Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with intermediate to expert level ability to utilize advanced accounting systems, MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc. required. Ability to remain flexible in a rapidly changing environment. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. What you bring to the table: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum five years of accounting experience; 2 - 5 years of construction project accounting experience Minimum two years of employee management experience, team of 4 or more Experience creating reports and compiling and analyzing data; strong analytical experience.
