AWS Engineer. Folio maintains a high availability environment which supports a complex proprietary stock trading system. The AWS Engineer has responsibilities from strategic to tactical in nature. The Engineer would be deeply involved in designing and planning as well as implementation and ongoing operational support. In this role, the Engineer will provide expertise and coaching for the team in all matters related to AWS setup, maintenance, deployment, build and release processes. Responsibilities:. Participate in planning, implementation, and growth of the infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud. Work closely with the architect and engineers to design networks, systems, and storage environment that effectively reflect business needs, security requirements, and service level requirements. Work with engineering and architecture teams to design and implement scalable software services. Provide technology implementation expertise to the engineering, QA, and infrastructure teams. Contribute in developing best practices for infrastructure as code, software build, continuous integration, and infrastructure automation. Maintain existing scripts by evaluating and improving existing code and applying bug fixes. Required Qualifications:. Highly technical AWS practitioner with 10+ years related systems engineering experience. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (or Professional) preferred. Experienced in designing and developing integrated solution using the AWS services. Solid expertise in CI/CD frameworks like Puppet, Maven, AWS Code Commit, AWS CodeDeploy. Experience working on DevOps and Release Management. Experience with Docker and/or Ansible. Experienced with JIRA administration and analysis in an Agile environment. Experience with GIT for revision control source. Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to lead effectively across organizations. Demonstrated experience in designing and developing complex distributed IT solutions (eg cloud, distributed systems or high-performance computing experience). Experience writing software or scripts in one of the following programming languages (C++, PowerShell, Java, JavaScript). Experience making recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure with regard to cloud technologies. Proven ability to be a team player capable of high performance and flexibility in a dynamic working environment with changing needs. Work Environment:. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands:. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
