The Test Editor conducts copy editing of exam items. Supports item development and content expert panel (CEP) meetings. Assists with managing item bank. Provides technical support to colleagues for use of item bank and item banking software. Facilitates test development meetings.

DUTIES
1. Perform first-line copy editing of items. Review departmental materials for accuracy and quality assurance. Research and resolve issues with exam content, quality, or challenges. Maintain, update, and implement Measurement Services Editorial Style Guide. Review and assure quality of field test and operational test forms. Review materials prepared by ANCC colleagues.
2. Assist with maintaining a relational database of all exam items and associated statistics. Format and edit items, prepare for and perform item imports and exports, and build item bank inventories. Perform promotions and demotions of item status and item swaps as directed. Monitor status of item bank and advise colleagues and management. Assist with managing technology-related aspects of assessment development, including setup and population of item-development and item-editing cycles in item banking software, providing electronic access of items for CEP meetings, and providing technical support regarding item banking software and graphic interfaces (e.g., tables, graphs, images). Transmit final exam forms to the vendor according to established deadlines.
3. Facilitate and assist others in facilitating item writing, review, and update meetings with content expert panels. Prepare meeting materials; oversee book production; and provide post-meeting summary reports to department leadership. Support colleagues with development of exam reference lists and exam-related research.
4.Maintain and update written procedures pertinent to the position. Maintain all necessary documentation in support of ISO accreditation requirements.
5.Perform other duties as assigned to support the department’s objectives and strategic goals.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Related Work Experience
Two years of office experience with at least one year in assessment development, item bank management, editing, or equivalent.
Skills
Database management; oral and written communication; use of office computer software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint); meeting facilitation; customer service; technology-related troubleshooting; and analytical thinking and problem solving.
Additional Qualifications
Ability to organize, manage, and complete multiple ongoing projects and tasks; accurately attend to details; adapt to changing priorities and work demands; take initiative; work autonomously with limited supervision; and work collaboratively and effectively within a team.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience with item banking software and data analysis. Experience in licensure or certification for a professional association, national testing agency, educational institution, or regulatory agency.
