The Virginia Spine Institute (VSI), the premier Center of Excellence for spinal health in the Washington DC metropolitan area, is seeking Electronic Health Record (EHR) Analyst/Trainer to join our elite team. This position is responsible for facilitating the use and continuous improvement of the EHR and related software programs in order to maximize the effectiveness of the system; including training new and existing staff and providers. Additional responsibilities include application analysis, clinical systems updates, involvement in new site or new software implementation projects, and daily support of the EHR. This is a full-time position working out of Reston, Virginia and reports to the Practice Administrator. Essential Job Responsibilities Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing EHR systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems Collaborate with decision makers and end users to define business requirements and application goals, identify and resolve business systems issues Assist with the advancement of clinical applications, interfaces, data migration and reporting of the EHR software Create and maintain the various forms and workflows within the EHR system Develop and maintain the training curriculum (for both individuals and groups), schedule and instruct clinical and non-clinical staff on the appropriate use of software application for their role Assist with the training and education of software upgrades, new features and new functionality Provide consultant level support, on the job coaching, and constant mentoring for all users, as needed Assist the Practice Administrator with all aspects of the implementation of new applications and modules as related to the EHR software Gather feedback from end users, analyzing results and making recommendations for process improvements Prioritize, schedule, and administer all instances where application enhancements and defect resolution are required Field incoming problem tickets from end users to resolve application and software issues within EHR servers, databases, and other mission-critical systems Act as a liaison between vendors and staff to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner Communicate application problems and issues to management and end users Record, track, and document the application and report problems to Practice Administrator Test fixes and perform follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent problems from repeating Initiate report and script writing; perform system documentation, as necessary Assist with the creation of policies and procedures for EHR processes and workflows Generate statistics and provide administrative reports as required, including regular reporting of key performance indicators Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the practice Provide support for testing of new and existing software applications Perform other duties as assigned and assist with other IT projects as needed Requirements At least 4 years of experience in an EHR coordination/implementation role, preferably with eClinicalWorks (eCW) Strong, demonstrable experience providing customer service and training required Effective verbal and written communication skills Expertise in healthcare business processes and associated clinical application software Must be detail-oriented and have strong time management, analytical, problem solving skills Able to multi-task, and follow up on all projects and tasks through to completion Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements Interested candidates should forward a cover letter and CV to joinourteam@spinemd.com.
