Opening at two locations for Mondawmin Health Center and Division Health Center! Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy and/or their designee, the Pharmacy Manager has ultimate accountability for all pharmacy operations, including ordering and pricing merchandise, inventory control, personnel, security, and compliance with all local, state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations. Pharmacy Manager is responsible for supervision of staff including evaluations, hiring, medication dispensing, and patient medicine education. Be a resource for patients and Providers alike to provide drug information. They will also seek additional business opportunities to partner with and increase program profitability. Finally, they will assist with departmental budget projections for service volume, revenue and all around financial performance.Contacts and interactions vary and may involve multiple constituencies such as direct interaction with THC's executive management, community organizers, the general public, THC's patients, physicians, colleagues, assigned staff, vendors, contractors and consultants for the purpose of providing and exchanging information. Essential Job Functions Ultimately responsible for pharmacy profitability by maximizing prescription volume, gross profit percentage, and meeting set goals for finance, quality, inventory, and compliance.Manages other Pharmacists to ensure all employees are managing prescriptions and providing patient education to promote the safety and well-being of all patients. Reviews prescriptions to assure accuracy, to ascertain the needed ingredients, and to evaluate their suitability.Provides information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage and proper medication storage to patients and medical staff. Review the pharmacy daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports. Review pharmacy financial reports with Director of Pharmacy. Effective inventory management, including the handling of return and outdated merchandise, return to stock prescriptions and cycle counting. Responsible for pharmacy inventory preparation and count. Ordering prescription merchandise and managing inventory. Responsible for scheduling all pharmacy personnel to meet store and customer needs.Train and supervise staff pharmacists, ancillary personnel, interns and technicians.Conduct annual performance evaluations (appraisals) for staff pharmacists, interns, technicians, and ancillary personnel.Utilize Total Health Care's progressive discipline procedures and include proper written documentations. Mandatory attendance of quarterly pharmacy staff meetings and attend all required all staff employee meetings.Must know, follow, and enforce all pharmacy policies and procedures.Comply with and enforce THC's attendance, tardiness, dress code, and grooming policies.Follow and enforce company policies regarding sexual harassment. Provide World Class customer service; ie, special requests, returned merchandise, inquiries regarding prescriptions, OTC, insurance, customer complaints. Process pharmacy sales. Authorize refunds; approve checks and charges. Perform register functions as needed.Oversee third party claim processing; ie, billing, re billing and reconciliation. Responsible for proper handling of applicable company and pharmacy paperwork. Competent knowledge to operate pharmacy computer system and Email functions and train personnel in the use. Competent working knowledge of participating third party plans. Responsible for complying with all THC pharmacy audit requirements. Responsible for resolving employee and customer issues, concerns, and complaints.Maintain communication with Director of Pharmacy. Possess and/or develop communication skills to effectively handle company policy and procedures; ie, special requests, customer complaints, prescription errors, and customer returns.Communicate (make available) to pharmacy staff applicable corporate, store, and vendor information on a timely basis.Teamwork approach to daily work routine which involves the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff and management.Maintain all legal reports and records as required.Use good professional judgment in the dispensing of medications.Receive, verify, obtain and document refill authorization, and accurately fill prescriptions.Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations regarding mandatory consultations on prescription and OTC drugs. Must perform final audit on prescriptions filled by technicians and interns.Responsible for answering regular and doctor phone lines in an expedient and courteous manner using appropriate store greeting.Responsible for maintaining a clean and professional pharmacy.Responsible for pharmacy equipment. Maintain an awareness of the environment; report actual and potential criminal activity/incidents to proper personnel: ie, RPM.Ensure the completion of all prescription error incident reports within 24 hours of notification of error.Responsible for maintaining a perpetual Schedule II inventory and Suboxone inventory Follow opening and closing procedures.Perform other work-related duties as assigned.Treats patients in respectful and confidential manner.Triage's patients to other providers as necessary when in need of counseling.Other duties as assigned. Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required Pharm D degree from an American Colleges of Pharmacy (ACPE) accredited school 2 years' experience in a community pharmacy practice 5 year's current supervisory experience Strong knowledge of HIV disease and other chronic illnesses Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of FQHC and 340B operations, operating principles, guidelines and bylaws. Excellent leadership, customer service, organizational and presentation skills as well as the ability to effectively communicate THC's vision, and motivate others to achieve it organizationally, departmentally, and personally/professionally. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing). Ability to plan and organize work initiatives to successfully accomplish center/organizational goals and objectives. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and delegate as appropriate.Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.Ability to identify, develop and implement short/long-term strategic goals and objectives.Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships; influence, build credibility and trust. Ability to think critically as well as apply critical thinking skills.Ability to ensure and advocate for quality healthcare and services; and, lead and manage a diverse staff. Licenses and Certifications Pharmacist License issued in the state of Maryland Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification (Preferred, or within 12 months of employment) Physical Demands Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls.Ability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to: personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Ability to lift, carry, push or pull heavy objects in excess of 75lbs as well as squat, walk, climb, bend, crouch, stoop, kneel, stand, grasp, reach, pull and repetitive motions.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
