Job Details

The Senior Financial Analyst provides financial and analytical support to Adventist HealthCare. This support includes financial and operational analysis to
support key management initiatives; capital and operational budgeting; labor productivity analyses; service line
and margin analyses; long-term planning; and responding to ad-hoc requests as necessary. The Senior Financial
Analyst should exhibit AHC's RISES values, produce high quality deliverables in a timely manner with clear and
concise communication and be accountable to the work product.

Work Schedule:

Responsibilities:
  • Support the financial operations of the Adventist HealthCare Rehabilitation and its affiliates
  • Participate in the annual budget process through:
    • managing, updating and maintaining the budget software for entities of responsibility
    • developing, coordinating and providing education to department leaders
    • performing account analysis, trend review and volume projections
    • routinely updating and interacting with senior entity leadership
  • Work with clinical departments, understanding various service lines operations and providing financial support to leadership.
  • Modeling pro-formas with scenario/sensitivity analysis for new service lines
  • Compilation and issuance of routine deliverables, in conjunction with the monthly accounting close process.
  • Biweekly and monthly labor productivity and workforce management reporting
  • Create metrics, KPI's, scorecards based on statistical analysis using both financial and clinical knowledge
  • Support the preparation and compilation of presentations for upper level management.
  • Attend, participate in, and present at meetings with upper level management.
  • Identify trends and developments in competitive environments and present findings.
  • Identify new and enhance current sources of information to improve the decision-making process


Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in business, finance or health related field, Masters prepared preferred.
  • 3-5 years of work experience in financial analysis and management required, including commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures. Working knowledge of health care industry and/or hospital operations preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, budget/forecasting software, financial reporting, database management, report writing
  • Ability to work independently and handle a multi-task environment.
  • Able to actively participate on a team, supporting other team members and offering assistance to others as needed.
  • Strong customer service skills on the telephone, email, and face-to-face contact.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be creative, enthusiastic and a strategic thinker.
  • Must have the ability to guard confidential information.
  • Must have the ability to plan and coordinate projects from start to finish, set and meet objectives, budgets and deadlines, be attentive to detail and have strong communication/presentation skills.
  • Must have tact and good judgment.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Must have the ability to work directly with upper level management (i.e. "C" level executives) through face-to-face contact, email and telephone.
