Responsibilities

Serves as Project Coordinator within the Business Operations Directorate, Field Operations Branch, Business and Support Services Division (MR).

Works in conjunction with construction and other departments in all phases of projects from inception to completion. Assists in the acquisition of, and generates quotes for fixtures, furnishings and equipment (FF&E).

Proficient in reading and reviewing project documentation such as architectural/engineering plans, specifications and cost estimates. Develops and coordinates procedures and directs activities for projects. Manages, controls, and monitors assigned project budgets, schedules and assures that commitments are met. Works with the project team members in managing project scope teams.

Utilizes appropriate project techniques such as scheduling, networking, and creating work breakdown structures to plan, coordinate, develop and monitor execution plans. Prepares timely management data that includes baselines of scope, schedule, cost, and resource requirements and tracks actual performance.

Coordinates project reviews by the project team and ensures review schedules are tracked and maintained. Responsible for scheduling and leading technical and non-technical meetings when appropriate and coordinating resolutions on project issues when necessary. Coordinates meetings, and conference calls with stakeholders and subject matter experts.

Works with intermediate and senior level staff to review store layouts and renderings for accuracy and brand integrity. Actively pursues continuous improvements, researches and identifies industry trends and incorporates them into daily practices.

May visit sites as required, to ascertain all field conditions that may impact the architectural design and floor layout phases prior, during and following project planning. May attend conferences and meeting. Prepares supporting documentation for presentations and proposals. May prepare correspondence, briefs, action documents, routing sheets, point papers and slide presentations for use by management officials.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the high-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulation and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

May travel to conduct work assignments. May work a fluctuating work schedule to conduct work assignments outside of the typical workweek and work hours.

Performs other related duties as assigned. This is a white collar position where occasional lifting up to 20lbs. may be required.

EVALUATIONS:

Qualifications

BACHELOR'S DEGREE in Retail Management, Business or a related field appropriate to work of the position AND three years of experience in retail store design, commercial interior design, or equivalent with a design firm, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above, OR appropriate experience that demonstrates the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above.

Project management experience is required. General knowledge of use and application of AutoCAD software is preferred. Knowledge and experience with intermediate level computer skills is required (word processing, spreadsheets, and database software).

A high degree of skill in reasoning and ability to apply that skill is required. Skill and ability to identify, analyze, define and develop strategies; modify and adapt solutions to resolve problems in long range store planning. Knowledge and skill in developing and presenting briefings regarding the status proposed planning, schedules, work breakdown, cost, resources, issues, solutions. Skill and ability to work under severe pressures relating to time constraints, short and changing deadlines, and uncertainty and conflict of project directives and guidelines. Good interpersonal skill and teamwork in effectively dealing with all levels of management, project leaders, contractors and other personnel.
