About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM), the Army's materiel integrator for command, control, communications, computers, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C5ISR) readiness, CECOM plays a critical role in supporting our Soldiers' ability to protect our Nation and way of life.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Executive Assistant (EA) to the Commanding General (CG), CECOM and/or Headquarters (HQ) Staff.
  • Interface and assist CG in strengthening external or strategic relationships with high-ranking military and civilian government officials, important business and industry leaders, and others whose interests are concerned with the CECOM's mission.
  • Provide sound advice to the CG with respect to daily support, near-term/long-range calendar and event planning and execution, and staff coordination of staff actions, events, and executive program management oversight activities involving the CG.
  • Perform analyses of staffing procedures and administrative operations in support of the Command's mission.
  • Stay abreast of staffing policies and procedures; employ knowledge of Department of Army, Army Materiel Command, and CECOM sub-organizations, programs and missions to facilitate the operations across CECOM.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education/experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience in the NH-01 pay band or equivalent grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves (1) Experience performing administrative and management assistant duties which provide for support of personnel, reports and forms control, records management, travel, conferences and briefings; (2) Experience preparing and editing correspondence, technical papers, spreadsheets, and briefing charts ensuring content is accurate and in the correct format and; (3) Experience researching administrative problems, analyzing results of findings and providing recommendations.

OR

Successfully completed a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.

Education
