About the Position: Arlington National Cemetery is located in Arlington, VA. Since May of 1864, Arlington National Cemetery has served as the nation's premier military cemetery and shrine honoring those men and women who served in the Armed Forces.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Lead Realty Specialist and Advisor to the Chief of Army National Cemetery Program. Provide planning, scheduling, directing, budgeting, coordinating, advising, and monitoring the civil and military realty programs.
  • Advise on real property matters such as acquisitions, disposal, management, and improvements to land.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and develop guidance as the senior authority and is recognized as authority for real estate management.
  • Evaluate all trends in realty areas to apprise the Directorate as well as the Command of new concepts or programs and the presence of overlapping or non-essential programs with corrective action programmed for resolution of issues.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience (GS-13): One year of specialized experience which includes: negotiating the terms of contracts for different types of property; utilizing a variety of property databases to ensure information is updated; auditing money flow, ownership documents, or other information to verify the purchase of land; collaborating with other organizations to ensure compatibility of real estate programs.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Specialized Experience (GS-12): One year of specialized experience which includes: participating in negotiations for different types of property; utilizing a variety of property databases to ensure information is updated; participating in the audit process to verify ownership of land; collaborating with individuals within an organization to ensure real property programs are meeting applicable objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
