2. Provides direction, monitor production trends, and manage resources to ensure alignment with strategic goals and objectives
3. Monitors and evaluates the impact and effectiveness of communications plans, focuses on results and provides management with recommendations to improve the quality of communications programs
4. Seeks out and capitalizes on opportunities to leverage knowledge of how the organization and processes work to make contributions with far-ranging impact
5. Demonstrates deep knowledge of analytic tradecraft related to visualization; ability to guide analysts and designers through potential advantages/pitfalls of various depictions of data/analytic stories.

HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS

1. Expertise with DIA/DI templates and style guides for finished intelligence products
2. Experience providing creative direction to graphic designers on finished intelligence products

Individual Occupational Requirements

Education

Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. Some positions may also require subject-matter knowledge of medicine, science, or technical equipment.

Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.

Specialized Experience (for positions above GG-5): Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes planning the preparation and use of photographs, illustrations, drawinGG, and other art work, charts, diagrams, dioramas, maps, slides, overlays, and other kinds of visual material for use in communicating information through visual means.

DIA positions are Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) positions in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601. All applicants must be U.S. citizens at the time of application. Applicants must meet the agency's conditions of employment, to include, but not limited to, satisfactory completion of an initial special background investigation and periodic reinvestigation, completion of any required medical examination and physical requirements, completion of any required personal interviews, favorable completion of any required initial or aperiodic polygraph examinations, completion of any required drug test, satisfactory completion of a two-year Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System trial period, and completion of a civilian mobility agreement. All employees are required to sign an agreement not to disclose, in any fashion, classified information to unauthorized persons. All civilian employees are required to participate in the DoD Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer of Pay (DD/EFT) Program.
