Responsibilities

This position serves as an Administrative Technician in the Administrative Division for the Office of the Unites States Attorney, Eastern District of Virginia. The incumbent provides a wide variety of clerical and administrative services in support of the Director of Administration, and performs other administrative functions of the District. Examples of these services include, but not limited to, time and attendance, mail management, motor vehicle operations, supplies and equipment and facilities maintenance. Some duties require lifting supplies and equipment and moving office furniture weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Qualifications

, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has provided the applicant with the ability to perform in one functional area of support services (e.g., clerical and administrative support, ordering supplies).

Education Substitution: 4 years above high school is also qualifying for the GS-5 level.

To be qualified at the GS-6 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has provided the applicant with the ability to perform in two functional areas of support services (e.g., mail management, motor vehicle operations, supplies and equipment, time and attendance).

To be qualified at the GS-7 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has provided the applicant with the ability to perform three or more functional areas of support services (e.g., all aspects of mail operations, motor vehicle operations, supplies and equipment, facilities maintenance, management assistance, time and attendance, and inventory).

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
