Graduate Program Manager

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) is seeking a Graduate Program Manager for the Division of Professional Studies at Shady Grove. The Graduate Program Manager (GPM) will oversee the suite of Division of Professional Studies (DPS) sponsored graduate professional programs at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG). The incumbent will be the primary point of contact for the graduate programs and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day onsite operations at USG.

Specific duties include:  work collaboratively with faculty and staff members, Graduate Program Directors, students, and main campus offices as needed to support enrollment management, marketing, recruitment, admissions activities, and programmatic management initiatives; assist prospective and current students throughout the various stages of the student life cycle (prospect to graduation), and will manage the graduate programs in the areas of marketing, recruitment events, yield management, student on-boarding, advising, retention, graduation support, and overall business operations; and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required and one (two preferred) years of relevant experience required, preferably in higher education. General knowledge of procedures in enrollment services. Strong presentation and sales skills desired. Ability to work independently as well as the ability to develop and maintain effective professional relationships. Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite. Excellent client service, communication skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced office environment. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Three years of experience in higher education 
  • Three years of experience in university enrollment management 
  • Two years experience in higher education recruitment, including in-person and virtual events 
  • Prior experience with student information systems such as PeopleSoft.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with experience in graduate, hybrid, and online programs.

This is an exempt full-time regular position. 

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
