The Office of Senate Legal Counsel - a non-partisan, independent, statutorily created office that represents the Senate, Members, Officers and staff of the Senate in litigation, and provides advice on a variety of constitutional and other legal issues - seeks a legal assistant. Paralegal experience preferred. Duties include: conducting legal, legislative, and historical research; cite checking and filing electronically briefs and memoranda; maintaining, updating, and organizing paper and electronic reference files; tracking and compiling Senate rules, statutes, and court decisions; assisting with administrative tasks, including answering telephone calls. Ideal candidate will have willingness and aptitude to assist with computer systems administrator functions. Please e-mail or mail a cover letter and resume. Minimum starting salary of $75,000.
Qualifications
Relevant experience preferred.
Education
Undergraduate degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
