Job Announcement

Designs, develops, tests, maintains, and enhances SAP solutions for finance, logistics and controlling modules in SAP. Works with the entire team to ensure development conforms to acceptance criteria. Drives engagement with software vendors, solution consultants, and several agencies to understand customer requirements, assess available options, and present and develop solutions. Works with business product owners, developers, and subject matter experts to drive value delivery and will participate in all phases of software development life cycle. Performs complex analysis and programming, design, testing, and debugging work related to the implementation, enhancement, integration, upgrade and support of county's SAP systems. Works in a team environment, responsible for conducting work associated with developing functionality in the SAP ERP system, integrating components, developing reports and interfaces. Serves as a senior expert in SAP technical solution and components, conducts analysis and determines design and executes solutions. Leads work, assists and provides knowledge transfer and training to other staff programmers. Participates on project and operations teams to determine how related applications, interfaces, web portals and tools which may be on multiple platforms will be implemented and integrated with the SAP ERP platform, FOCUS is Fairfax County's unified system build using SAP ERP (SAP ECC, HCM, FICO, SRM, and Vendor Invoice Management) for both county and schools replacing legacy business systems. FOCUS integrates finance, logistics, procurement, and bidding modules for both county and schools.

Employment Standards

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer technology, business, economics, or a related field; plus four years of programming/analysis experience, including one year of team lead or supervisory experience in a complex information systems or automated business environment.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
None.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 8 years of ABAP development experience in SAP FI/CO;
  • Cross-functional ABAP development experience, including lead developer role on SAP projects;
  • Demonstrated aptitude in SAP development skills - Data dictionary, ABAP, performance tuning, Object oriented programming, data migration, interfaces and enhancements;
  • Hands-on experience in SAP Custom Development - ALV reports, ALE/IDOCs, BDC, User Exits, BADI, SAP Smart Form, SAP script, BRF/BRF+, Report writer, Report Painter;
  • Knowledge of integration concepts such as web services, ALE, and Process Integration/Process Orchestration (PI/PO);
  • Exposure to HANA programming;
  • Working knowledge of FI, CO, BW;
  • Functional/configuration experience with SAP Content Management, Vendor Invoice management;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Knowledge of agile practices in a cross-functional environment.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
