eCYBERMISSION Project Manager

National Science Teaching Association located in Arlington, VA, seeks highly qualified candidates for the position of eCYBERMISSION Project Manager. This position is grant funded.  The eCYBERMISSION competition creates a virtual learning experience for Grade 6-9 students providing them a rich real-world opportunity to collaborate with classmates investigating local community problems using scientific inquiry and then applying the scientific practices and/or engineering design to propose solutions to those problems.  The Project Manager will work with the NSTA Director of Army Educational Outreach Projects (AEOP), the AEOP Budget Manager and the NSTA Director of Grants & Contracts to develop and analyze annual budget; manage eCYBERMISSION fulltime and seasonal staff and contractors; and oversee website, registration and submission processing. The Project Manager will support outreach efforts by working with the Assistant Project Manager, the Manager of Volunteer Programming and the Educational Outreach Specialist.  The Project Manager will support virtual, regional and national judging by working with the Manager of Volunteer Programming and oversee the National Judging & Educational Event (NJ&EE). The Project Manager will serve as the primary liaison with the U.S. Army sponsor regarding day-to-day administration of eCYBERMISSION; and will collaborate with the AEOP Communications Manager and staff to plan and implement marketing activities, oversee development of promotional materials, oversee all marketing campaigns and oversee the volunteer acquisition, retention and maintenance initiatives with the Manager of Volunteer Programming.  The Project Manager will have 6 direct reports and oversee a staff of up to 10. This is an on-site position.  A Master’s degree and a minimum of 8 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Travel up to 30%, which includes a 7-day onsite national event. PMP certification is desired but not required.
