Summary

The position is located in the General Services Division of the Office of the Executive Director in the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA/EX/GSD), Department of State. CA/EX is responsible for providing a wide range of management support for the Bureau of Consular Affairs. GSD provides administrative support for the Bureau.

Responsibilities

  • Examines new or proposed travel policies, procedures, regulations, and legislation and assesses impact to the Bureau's travel program
  • Develops, organizes and conducts training sessions for travel arrangers throughout CA's directorates and offices on the automated travel program
  • Conducts comprehensive assessments of the Bureau Travel and Budget Financial Plan to determine the accuracy of pertinent allocations per Fiscal Year .
  • Assumes responsibility for all administrative and financial tasks related to the travel card to include policy development, issuance, card utilization, billing, and termination

Qualifications

If you are qualifying based on education OR if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcript with your application.Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience in using automated travel systems and in interpreting travel regulations, policies and procedures;
  • Experience with financial/accounting management systems: and
  • Experience in developing guidance for effective management and improvement of travel program operations.


There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-12 position.
