Responsibilities

As a Financial Education Program Manager (Students), you will:
  • Develop strategic objectives and project plans, including milestones and timelines and recommend the adoption and application of new methods, approaches, and assessment criteria to ensure student program or project requirements are aligned with strategic objectives;
  • Develops new metrics in response to program initiatives to assess the efficiency of student related programs and their execution. Assessments may also include impact analyses of program changes;
  • Recommend, develop content for, and help design CFPB consumer outreach efforts and interactive media on student financial services topics for public audience. Work with Information Technology Specialists to identify areas for new outreach or educational programming, software reprogramming to incorporate new metrics, or programming to better isolate and quantify data to produce reports and assessments;
  • Prepare and deliver briefings to senior executives and managers, CFPB staff representatives, Congressional staff, federal and state agencies, the public or others on program operations or project status related to highly sensitive, complex, and controversial issues.

The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector or volunteer service . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the CN-60, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the CN-53 grade level in the Federal service (For qualification purposes, the CN-53 is broadly equivalent to the GS-13). For this position, specialized experience is experience that demonstrates extensive and substantive knowledge and understanding of issues and problems relating to student financial issues, with particular emphasis on student loans and other financial products and services targeted toward students and young adults. This experience must reflect direct experience in:
  • Managing projects relating to student loans or student loan servicing; AND
  • Analyzing data on student financial issues and products; AND
  • Independently drafting and presenting succinct written products to demonstrate complex analyses, policy options and implications.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
