Responsibilities

  • Manage the development of short and long term budget submissions, which includes equipment, property utilization, and accountability and disposal programs in addition to normal funding requirements for the office.
  • Maintain control of program expenditures and operating funds, analyses trends, projects allocation requirements and verifies claims for cost reimbursement.
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
  • Develop agency guidelines and directives in regards to the accountability program.
  • Oversee the outfitting program and assurance plans for districts and schools.
  • Assist the program manager in developing and monitoring applicable processes and systems for the review and control of resource requirements.
  • Research reports, vulnerability assessments, and correspondence files for material weaknesses.
  • Convert data analysis into charts, graphs, and reports.
  • Maintain in coordination with Education Directorate personnel, furniture requirements, acquisition and sustainment plans.
  • Coordinate furniture management activities to ensure all required furniture are on hand.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience for the GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes experience such as evaluate the effectiveness of accountability program and conduct studies and surveys of the research program of the program ; develop policies, procedures or guidelines for an accountability program; manage budget, such as planning, execution and analysis and coordinate furniture management activities to ensure all required furniture are on hand. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
