Duties

Summary

This position is located in the Department of Commerce (DOC), Office of Financial Managment (OFM), Gaithersburg, Maryland. The primary purpose of this position is to lead and perform project management activities and operations support activities for all assigned OFM and DOC identified projects.

The Band 4 is equivalent to the Grade 13/14 on the GS pay scale.

Responsibilities

  • Providing project management for all assigned projects (e.g., large scale, multi-disciplinary business and IT system implementations) encompassing the entire project life cycle, associate tasks, communications, reporting, and production support.
  • Providing technical and administrative support to the supervisor in support of special projects and day-to-day work activities.
  • Balancing compliance (with applicable standards, laws, and regulations) with customer expectations and measurable results that align with leadership's direction.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below.

Specialized Experience:
ZA-4: You qualify for the ZA-4 level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the ZA-3 or GS-12 level in the Federal government, performing the following duties:
  • Performing project management to include the entire project life cycle, associate tasks, communications, reporting, and production support;
  • Analyzing administrative policy issues to implement systems and processes across functional areas; and
  • Representing an organization to present issues and recommendations (orally and in writing).

Background Investigation: To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the Department of Commerce requires each and every employee to be reliable and trustworthy.
