Reporting to the Sr. Accounting Manager, as a Staff Accountant, you'll be on the front lines of implementing solid accounting controls, policies & procedures; be part of a growing accounting department with opportunities for development and cross-training; and implementing efficiencies to ensure timely, accurate results for management decisions. Supporting our national security in the areas of Space, Intelligence, Defense, Homeland Security, Cybersecurity, and Communications, you will fill a critical role for Peraton to meet its goal of being the company that national security customers consistently rely on to solve their most daunting challenges. What you'll do Support monthly close processes ensuring an accurate and timely close Prepare monthly recurring and adjusting journal entries Prepare balance sheet reconciliations with schedules/reports to support the account balances Monitor and report daily cash activity. Ensure compliance with and continually improve internal controls over general ledger functions and lead ongoing transformation efforts to streamline accounting systems and drive related efficiencies throughout the company. Update and maintain accounting policies and procedures for various GL activities as well desktop user guides. Ensure Peraton adheres to all relevant standards and principles including General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), CAS, FAR, and statutory accounting regulations for various international locations. Assist in identifying and implementing improvements to processes. Support ad-hoc financial assignments Work directly with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit requirements, managing audit request and providing requested documentation while insuring audit efficiency. Support due diligence and integration efforts.
