Northwest Farm Credit Services is in search of a VP-Enterprise Risk Management to join our Spokane, Washington Headquarters team. Our customers are primarily located in Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Alaska. This full-time position reports to the EVP-Chief Risk and Credit Officer and is responsible for leading and providing strategic direction for the Enterprise Risk Management team; including the identification, management, and communication of risk in the association portfolio through monitoring, analyzing and interpreting portfolio data. This position will close on or before November 8. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Exemplifies and communicates Northwest FCS? commitment to employee and customer engagement. Provides effective leadership for assigned staff, including coaching, identification of training needs, development of training plans, and advancement of Stewardship and Community Service initiatives. Ensures high-quality risk management reporting, including all management and board reports; develops and oversees dashboard risk reporting for senior management and the Board of Directors. Leads and directs the development and maintenance of database information required for association risk management and regulatory compliance. Serves as the lead for stress testing activities conducted by the risk management division. Works with funding bank staff on economic capital modeling and computer-based model validation. Coordinates ERM activities across business units by working closely with key enterprise risk owners to produce uniform and consistent risk reporting and risk system advances. Ensures compliance with regulator directives for enterprise risk management, stress testing, managing risk concentrations, collateral risk management, counter party risk management and other risk management directives. Participates in the technology initiatives and evolution of risk management systems to ensure accurate and meaningful risk analysis; provides complex statistical analysis support for the portfolio management team. Maintains the allowance for credit losses methodology and analysis process; ensures allowance methodology is appropriate and supported by internal and external auditors; analyzes portfolio data and recommends appropriate quarterly provision for credit losses. Maintains adequate model documentation and validates allowance stress testing and other risk management systems. Collaborates with several large associations in a Farm Credit system partnership designed to combine resources on larger risk analytic projects. Oversees corporate insurance programs. Develops and monitors ERM budget. Represents and communicates the values, purpose, and mission of the association to employees, customers, the public, and other target audiences. Other duties as assigned. Supervision This position establishes methods and procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives, and receives guidance in terms of broad goals; only the final results of work are typically reviewed. The VP-ERM has direct supervisory responsibilities for multiple exempt staff. Minimum Qualifications Ability to effectively identify, hire, and develop strong talent, and maintain a high performing team. Strong employee coaching and development skills with a successful track record of managing staff. Proven track record of leading by example as an individual contributor and manager. Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Business, Ag Econ, Ag Business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to perform complex analysis and draw appropriate conclusions. Advanced level use of business technology and data analysis and reporting software. Ability to develop and implement effective risk management processes and procedures. Knowledge of accounting principles. Knowledge of economic, financial and agricultural practices having a potential impact on lending procedures and risk exposure.
