The Senior Accountant administers the monthly close process, supports the preparation of the MD&A, Investor Reports, Financial Statements and other presentations as needed. In addition, this role will work very closely with other team members to help facilitate the integration of new partners of Apex. The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Controller. Job :Administer the monthly close processMaintain the fixed asset and depreciation schedulesGenerate draft financial statements for reviewPost journal entries and review entries of junior staff, including reviewing cash receipts and accounts payablesPerform monthly estimates and accrualsWork closely with outside accountants to ensure the timely filing and payment of all tax returnsAssist in annual audit preparationCreate and distribute monthly reporting, including dashboards and other monthly reporting analysisSupport and/or lead projects across multiple functional areasCross train and coverage as required, including billing and contractingMaintain accounting policies in compliance with GAAP and up-to-date written procedures for all accounting and finance functionsOther duties as assigned and Required Skills: Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and accounting software packagesSelf-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems, desire to take on advanced tasks Detail oriented, ability to multi-task, work independently and prioritize tasksStrong communication skills with the ability to translate financial information to senior leadershipAbility to understand business activities with a broader view than just the finance functionDesire to learn about the industry and support the goals of the organizationEducation and Experience Required: BS in Accounting or Finance3-5 years of accounting or finance experienceCPA preferred but not required This is an exempt position
