Job Description The Nutrition and Diabetes Education Center (NADEC), is a successful and busy private practice specializing in medical nutrition therapy and diabetes education and training. We are seeking an additional Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist to provide outpatient medical nutrition therapy in the following areas: Weight management, bariatric nutrition, heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, gastrointestinal disorders, eating disorders, and food allergies. Our current dietitian has a full case load and is ready to hand over some clients. The position is for a part-time independent contractor and provides excellent compensation with the potential to grow. The candidate will be provided training and mentoring by a successful dietitian in private practice and must be self-motivated and have the desire to grow their client base. The candidate must have an interest and experience in wellness and prevention. However, if you have a specialty niche that you would like to grow, we highly recommend you apply, and we can help you bring clients in specific to that niche. Requirements: Must be a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist, minimum 1-year experience Hold Maryland State licensure in dietetics Active status through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Private practice or out-patient experience preferred Applicants must have the flexibility to work some weekday evenings and/or weekend morning hours Hours could potentially be increased based on performance Active CPR certification Responsibilities: One-on-one nutrition counseling with individuals Scheduling and follow-up notes Develop educational materials as needed Assist in the development and implementation of new specialty classes and programs Assess and establish patient treatment plans Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care Maintain accurate patient medical records Nutrition counseling and training for individual and groups Maintains effective relationships with other health care professionals and referring physicians Additional projects as agreed upon by applicant Qualifications: Knowledge of menu planning and the latest medial nutrition therapy topics and trends. Strong written, verbal, and communication skills Places emphasis on customer service and patient satisfaction Has a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, basic familiarity with Word, Outlook and PowerPoint presentations Self-starter who is flexible and needs minimal direction and follows through with assigned tasks Compassionate and non-judgmental when treating clients Professional and approachable
