Grants and Contract Accountant PERSONNEL STATUS : PIN/Exempt DEPARTMENT: Controller's Office OPEN DATE: October 9, 2019 CLOSING DATE: October 31, 2019 Responsibilities: Monitor financial activities of and provide accounting support for the University's restricted funds, including financial aid; assist in the development of budgets for grant and contract funded programs; assist in the development and implementation of the daily financial operational procedures for restricted fund activity; ensure the timely receipt of grant and contract related reimbursements to the university. Assist in the development and maintenance of the university's indirect cost reimbursement rate; prepare sponsor agency financial reports and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements; assist in development and delivery of periodic training for principle investigators; analyze financial records (PeopleSoft) at least on a monthly basis for compilation of billing and cash draw-down requirements; ensures appropriate procedures are followed timely for closing grants and contracts as required; ensures compliance with all reporting and audit requirements relating to grants and contracts, including maintaining proper supporting documentation; advises Grants Manager of possible problems concerning grants and contracts; other related duties, as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field required. Minimum one (1) year of experience in accounting required, preferably in a higher education environment. Knowledge of principles and practice of fund accounting. Knowledge of contract and grant accounting regulations, including OMB Circulars. This position may require some evening and weekend work.
