The Management Area of the School of Business at George Mason University has an Open-Rank Tenure-Line Faculty appointment open for a qualified individual to teach Organizational Behavior/Human Resources (OB/HR) courses starting August 2020. This is a full-time position with benefits. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Summer funding is available on a competitive basis contingent on availability of funds.

To support these strategic initiatives, the School of Business is playing a significant role in three new university initiatives: the Institute for Digital InnovAtion (IDIA); the Institute for a Sustainable Earth (ISE); and the School of Computing.

Management Area: The Management Area at the George Mason University School of Business is a vibrant, ambitious and collegial community that strives for excellence in research, teaching, and service. We currently have 14 tenured and tenure-track faculty with diverse research interests in OB/HR, Entrepreneurship, and Strategy. The Management Area also includes several exceptional full-time teaching faculty who are equal partners in our education mission. In the past several years, our OB/HR tenured and tenure-track faculty have published in many top journals, including Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Annals, Administrative Science Quarterly, Organization Science, and Journal of Applied Psychology . Our OB/HR faculty serve or have served on the executive leadership boards of several AOM Divisions (e.g., CM, MOC, OB, and GDO) and are associate editors and/or editorial board members of several top journals.

Responsibilities: The teaching load for this position is determined according to the School's faculty contributions model. Additional responsibilities include service to the Management Area, the School of Business, the University and the profession, such as journal reviewing/editing, academic division board leadership, student mentoring, committee membership, and interfacing with the business community.

Required Qualifications: * Earned Ph.D. or equivalent in an appropriate discipline prior to the start date; * Record of scholarly and professional accomplishments consistent with an appointment for the appropriate rank, including evidence of potential for publishing significant research in top-tier journals; and; * Evidence of potential to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Preferred Qualifications: * Evidence of significant published or "in press" research in top-tier journals; * An interest in conducting qualitative research; * Interest in contributing to the new School of Business PhD Program (Organizational Behavior Concentration); * Experience teaching at the undergraduate or graduate levels (including online), and the potential to teach effectively at the executive level. * Evidence of good citizenship and the ability to work effectively with colleagues throughout the School of Business.
