Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of the fire protection and suppression systems for a large and complex secure government facility located in northern Virginia.Inspect, test, maintain, and perform repairs to the fire protection systems to determine whether they are in service and in satisfactory operating condition; perform services in accordance with requirements and industry standards.Prepare accurate and timely reports according to program requirements and NFPA standards.Perform troubleshooting and identify code and non-conformance issues.Determine materials and help maintain inventory as required for timely work completion.Complete all work in accordance with applicable codes and regulations, including National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 25 and 72.Qualifications:Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience within the past 2 years supporting fire protection systems for a large and complex facilities program.Must have a National Institute of Certification in Engineering Technology (NICET) Level II certification and be manufacturer-trained and experienced in the most current NFPA codes and Unified Facilities Codes (UFC) Standards regarding inspection, testing, and maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems, Transmitter Panels receiver and repeater (Kingfisher), and Wet and Dry Fire Suppression Systems.Must have a Secret clearance.Must be fully knowledgeable of all safety and environmental requirements associated with fire alarm and suppression systems.Able to speak, read, and comprehend English in order to read and understand printed regulations, detailed written orders, operating procedures, training instructions, and materials.Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.We offer our employees a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package and are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
