Steptoe, a premier global law firm located in the heart of DuPont circle has an amazing opportunity for an experienced IT professional to join its Information Technology department. This position is responsible for installing, configuring and testing the implementation of our enterprise applications. This individual will collaborate with the various technical architects and the Lead Enterprise Systems Engineer in implementing leading edge enterprise systems and infrastructure for the firm. This position requires extensive experience working with and knowledge of VMware, Microsoft technologies, Enterprise storage solutions and other enterprise infrastructure. The Enterprise Systems Engineer will participate in engineering design activities and lead development efforts. The Enterprise Systems Engineer will also act as a subject matter expert for all hardware/software virtual infrastructure and storage products as it relates to the solution design. This position is also responsible for the following: Participate in the implementation and upgrade of enterprise systems and infrastructure to include storage (EMC), server operating systems (Windows 2016+), directory services (Windows 2016+ AD), server virtualization (VMWare/HyperV) and systems monitoring (SCCM) Participate in the implementation and upgrade of network services to include hardware routers/firewalls/switches (Cisco), load balancing (Netscaler), and network monitoring (Solarwinds). Create and maintain comprehensive documentation as it relates to server and network topology, equipment and configuration(s). Participate in the creation, maintenance, testing, and execution of the Disaster Recovery plan Work with hosting services, managed service providers, and contracted support to implement solutions for a wide range of product and service offerings. Assist in capacity planning activities, to include creating and presenting technical specifications and requirements for purchasing of new servers and networking equipment Co-plans and designs with the Lead Enterprise Systems engineer and Enterprise Systems architect and implements database servers, web servers and application servers. Implements the architecture necessary for integration with other application systems. Functions as the subject matter expert on projects to implement or enhance enterprise systems and infrastructure. Performs complex configuration, change management and testing activities to support designed architecture and integration between all systems and infrastructure. Qualified candidates should possess the following: Bachelor's degree in or equivalent certification from an accredited technical training school or equivalent (4 years) experience in IT. Experience with network analysis processes and tools with direct experience within the past 3 years. Extensive knowledge of copper and fiber infrastructure requirements to support complex networks. LAN, WAN, and mobile network architecture and engineering with direct experience within the past 3 years. Experience with HyperV, Windows Server 2016, SCOM. Experience with intrusion detection systems. 3 years of experience in network systems support and installation, including server hardware and network operating systems software. 3 years of experience in storage infrastructure (EMC/NetApp) support and installation. Preference will be given to candidates with multiple relevant technical certifications: Microsoft (MCSE), Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CCDP, CCDE), VMWare (VCDX), EMC The firm offers a generous and comprehensive compensation package.
