Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Principal or SeniorPrincipal Software Engineer to supportReciprocal Quantum Logic (RQL) technology development for the Test Design and Hardware Solutions team. This position is located in Linthicum, Maryland. Coding algorithms requested by scientists, ie design, develop, debug and test applications that contain scientificsolutions. Automating lab stimulation and measurement instruments required for state-of-the-art RQL research & development . Collaborate with stakeholders in developing and maintaining software tools for data acquisition, management andanalysis. Develop system processes, software tools and system platforms to support organizational goals and end-to-end productlifecycle. Ensure software development standards are satisfied. This position may be filled as a Principal or Senior Principal Software Engineer based on the qualifications below. Basic Qualifications for a Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field. 5 years experience w/ Bachelor's degree, 3 years w/ Master's, 0 years w/ Ph.D Minimum of 3 years experience in software design & development Proficiency inobject-oriented coding inPython language. Effective verbal and written communication, ability to work in a team environment Must have anunderstanding of lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, network analyzers, etc. Ability to convert MATLAB code into Python Ability to obtain Secret Clearance after start, US Citizenship is a pre-requisite Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field. 9 years' experience w/ Bachelor's degree, 7 years' w/ Master's, 4 years' w/ Ph.D Minimum of 7 years' experience in software design & development Proficiency inobject-oriented coding in Python language.
