Peraton has an exciting part-time opportunity for a Business Analyst in our Contracts department who will work with our Peraton Contracts Operations group in supporting Project Management activities in the realm of Data Analysis & Governance, Requirements Management, Business Process Improvement & Efficiency as well as Special Projects. The position can be based out of our Herndon, VA, Chesapeake, VA, or Annapolis Junction, MD office. If you have a knack for all things DATA, business intelligence and business process automation and improvement this is a great job for you! What you'll do Leverage previous skills garnered from working with business users and IT development teams to turn data into knowledge and information that supports corporate decision making across the Peraton enterprise. Work with software solutions such as Cognos, SharePoint and site knowledge to support operational efficiency efforts across Peraton Contracts' various SharePoint Lists, Document Repositories, Task Managers, subsites, permissions, custom 2013 workflows and InfoPath forms. Develop familiarity with federal government contracting rules and regulations; specifically contract closeout procedures in accordance with FAR 4.804. Gather and analyze operational, financial and contractual data in support of planning, forecasting, and business automation efforts. Work directly with internal customers to understand requirements and develop reporting solutions. Present the data in a way that is meaningful to the business. Collaborate with analysts, management, and IT personnel to develop metrics, reports, and dashboards in support of decision-making process. This function includes design, development, testing new as well as maintenance of existing solutions. Gather business requirements, devise priorities, conduct process analysis, develop business cases, as well as design, develop, and document dashboards, alerts, and reports. Support Legacy Closeout Record Transfer Project and Quick Closeout identification and recordation efforts in support of reducing closeout backlog and such that all contracts/orders in Peraton's closeout population are accurately logged in compliance with Peraton's Contract Closeout Policy. Obtain familiarity with Peraton's SharePoint-based Contract Closeout Management Process which is aligned to Peraton's Contract Closeout policy using list InfoPath forms and SharePoint 2013 custom workflows in support of Closeout-related special projects. Exercising Time Management skills by having a sense of work gauge to allot time for each task assigned even when unplanned events occur. Be responsible for supporting Special projects within the Contracts Department as required. You'd be a great fit if You've spent 3-5 years working in data modeling, data mining, data migration, and data warehousing, reports & dashboards development experience. You have experience supporting SharePoint Site actions such as uploading and maintaining content for site pages, document libraries, lists. You know how to use SharePoint 2016 sites as well as building custom 2013 Workflows and InfoPath forms at the site/list level. You are comfortable working on SharePoint 2013 custom Workflows and Microsoft InfoPath 2013 forms independently. You have advanced proficiency with MS Excel, general proficiency with MS Office applications and have the ability to learn unique software applications such as contracts database systems. You have a bachelor's degree or are currently pursuing the following relevant majors: Business Information Technology, Business Administration/Management, Information Technology, Information Management Systems, Business Intelligence. You are looking for a part-time opportunity (20 hours a week) It'd be even better if you Have knowledge of Microsoft InfoPath custom rules and logic. Hold an industry certification such as Lean 6Sigma green belt. You are professional and have excellent verbal/written skills. You are detailed and analytical, exhibiting critical thinking and problem-solving ability. Have a demonstrated track record of exercising Time Management skills. Are interested in understanding the foundations of Contracts Administration coupled with business process improvement, development and execution leveraging technology for more efficient processes and data analysis.
