Program Manager, Government Contracting

The George Mason University, School of Business, invites applications for the position of Program Manager, Government Contracting. This position will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operational aspects of the Government Contracting leadership program for the School of Business. This position is funded from external foundation funding, and the position is expressly contingent upon the continuation of such foundation funding.

Responsibilities: The Program Manager, Government Contracting has responsibilities in the following areas:

Program Management: * Manages all aspects of program operations including scheduling, facilities and equipment, catering, and preparation of any necessary materials, certificates, or evaluations; * Manages customer relations and address requests for information, program support, and program modifications of a non-academic nature. This includes managing the departmental Outlook contact groups; * Manages customer, client and vendor relations and addresses requests for information, program support, and program modifications of a non-academic nature; and * Supports and assists program participants.

Administrative Support: * Hire, train, and supervise departmental college work-study intern(s); * Screen calls, visitors, and inquiries. Schedule appointments and maintain accompanying electronic calendar(s); * Prepare correspondence and other written materials for the Government Contracting leadership team; * Process work and supply orders through eVa; * Maintain schedule of activities for all aspects of the program; * Complete P-Card purchases and provide monthly reconciliation of purchases to Accounts Payable; and * Provide monthly reconciliations of revenue and expenses to the School of Business Budget Office.

Marketing and Communications: * Assist the Government Contracting leadership team with website and social media as follows: develop and maintain constant communication with School of Business staff through social media and emails; develop and update program content on the web and social media channels; collaborate with the school's marketing team to promote relevant events to both internal and external communities; and * Communicate effectively with stakeholders to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.

Events Management: * Publicize promotional material and other communications to prospective students, faculty, and external stakeholders; * Plan and organize events as required; * Prepare participant lists and badges for events; * Assist with staffing event registration desk.

Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; * Strong written and oral communication skills; * Strong organizational skills; * Computer literate; and * Expertise in spreadsheet and database systems.

Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with GMU's internal programs and procedures; * Experience working in higher education; and * Demonstrated experience running an office and working with high-level executives, speakers, and/or senior level administrators.
