Arlington Campus Event Assistant Position

The Arlington Office of Events Management is seeking part-time event assistants to work between 10-20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends, starting at $11/hour. The emphasis of this position is to coordinate event set-ups; provide A/V support for conferences, meetings and celebrations; and, to provide quality service to all clients during their event. Required Qualifications: The successful candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently, individually and on a team, serving a diverse audience, including current university faculty and staff, alumni, donors, students and external clients. The candidate must be able to exercise sound and independent judgment and be able to prioritize multiple tasks. This individual must function within well-defined guidelines and procedures to resolve routine issues. The position involves the set-up and breakdown of event equipment and furniture. Applicants must have the ability to lift up to 50lbs independently. A high school diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications: The candidate should be able to make independent and logical decisions and be proactive to resolve problems. Experience in an event support role is a plus.
