Toxicology Scientist Kelly Scientific is currently seeking a Toxicology Scientist to work in R&D for a prestigious client of ours in Manassas, VA. This scientist will develop products, services and standards for life science research in the area of in-vitro assays for toxicology screening applications. The Scientist plans, executes and troubleshoots research activities and investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts toward development of new and/or improved products for toxicology assays. The Scientist will be expected to identify new and improved technologies, reagents, cell lines, etc. that will enable or accelerate the toxicology product development program. Responsibilities Will develop new assays in the area of in vitro cell based toxicology. Will work with Product Managers to determine product specifications. Will speak with customers to uncover hidden needs. Will work with operations to transfer the technology after developed. Will also work with finance and quality Will be part of a 30 person R&D team working in interdisciplinary groups to deliver innovative in-vitro toxicological assays. Requirements Ph.D. in a biological life science, with 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in in-vitro pre-clinical toxicology assays, additional years are highly preferred. Significant hands-on expertise in cell-based assays for liver and cardiac tox assessment and/or 3D models including organ-on-a-chip are highly preferred. Two years previous experience in industry and/or product development is highly desirable; additional years are highly preferred. Must have expertise in the area of cell based toxicological assays with hands on experience in High Content Imaging. Must understand how the assays are used by the pharmaceutical industry and be able to work with existing raw materials to address customer needs.
