Title: Facilities Technician Location: Columbia, MD Duration: Temp to hire Overview Responsible for working with contractors/vendors, facility team members and management on activities which may include but are not limited to environmental cleaning, housekeeping, maintenance of compressed gas, electrical, HVAC, life-safety, mechanical, office, plumbing, pneumatic, and structural equipment and systems while complying with all regulatory codes and standards to create a clean, productive and safe working environment. This is an on-call position. Responsibilities Monitoring of facility and process equipment and systems through building management system and daily rounds to assure proper operation of machinery and efficient management of utilities. Compliance with regulating authorities by assuring proper understanding and implementation, as well as accurate documentation of all work being performed. Maintenance of proper inventory of parts and materials through established systems and controls to assure availability for maintenance and repair jobs. Assistance with the selection and training of contractors and vendors to assure compliance with company goals and objectives. Requires direct supervision of all contractors to assure all work is completed properly and within a timely manner. Maintenance of all facility and process equipment, structures, and systems through proper housekeeping, maintenance, repair and replacement to assure cleanliness, functionality, integrity and safe operation. Required Qualifications High school diploma Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment or as a HVAC contractor or journeyman. Must have, at minimum, a Fourth Grade Stationary Engineer's license. Participation in the On-Call program. Must have experience with Microsoft Office (ie Word and Excel). Must be able to interpret and utilize P & ID, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings and schematics. Physical Requirements / Travel Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be reliable in attendance and willing to work flexible hours, overtime and weekends. Must have reliable transportation and a willingness to use it for company purposes. Preferred Qualifications EPA section 608, "Universal Refrigeration License". Associates degree in Engineering or HVAC strongly preferred.
