Job Description The Data Engineer will be responsible for working in a team and delivering high value services to our clients. Excited about AI and having experience in data engineering, the selected candidate will play a critical role in working with clients and achieving high customer satisfaction goals. The selected candidate will report to the Executive Vice President of Data & Analytics. The position is based in our US Headquarters in Rockville, MD. Main areas of responsibility Consult with clients to gather and analyze business requirements and technical constraints, support AI project goals and development methods and tools to be used and build proof of concepts. Analyze and understand information systems requirements to design, develop and deliver software applications to interface with our proprietary software's REST APIs and to support client-side application integration and migration into client information systems. Perform software validation tasks, select pertinent testing methods, and develop software modifications and enhancements to ensure high quality of developed software for information systems applications. Train clients on product features and provide best practices to use various suite of Expert System AI products Perform data acquisitions, data transformations, and data analytics for AI projects Evaluate and identify ways to improve data accuracy and quality Develop technical documents and diagrams to clarify software architecture structure and steps for implementation into client information systems. Work collaboratively with a project and client team in an agile environment Work with R&D team for AI product roadmap & innovation Skills and experience Bachelor's degree in data engineering/Computer Science 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or technical consulting Impeccable communication and interpersonal skills Intermediate programming knowledge of Java and Python (at least 3 years of professional or/and academic experience) Experience working with REST APIs (actual REST API development is a big plus) Strong understanding of database management systems (experience with at least one SQL- based and NoSQL- based DBMS would be an absolute must) Basic understanding of distributed systems / parallel computing Basic understanding of cloud-based computing (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud) Basic familiarity with the command line and Linux operating systemamiliarity with the microservices paradigm (Flask, Docker, Kubernetes) Understanding of Solr, Elasticsearch is a plus Most importantly : the attitude and passion for learning Administration information & compensation The position will involve travels in USA and Canada Competitive compensation package in relation to experience as well as benefits including Medical, vision, Dental Insurance, short/Long term disability and 401K Our client is an equal opportunity employer
