mgm technology partners is looking for a business analyst with 5+ years of commercial insurance expertise (General Third Party Liability, Property and Business Interruption, Marine, Aviation, Entertainment, Engineering, or Financial Lines) to join its growing team in Alexandria, Virginia, just outside of Washington, DC About you You've spent your career working in the commercial (non-healthcare, non-consume) insurance industry and you're frustrated like us: the tech is old, the regulations are messy, and claims processing is exhausting. You want to be a part of the solution, and you're intrigued and excited by emerging commercial insurance technology like mgm Cosmo. You have an analytical mind. You feel comfortable making recommendations on how to construct data models for underwriting software. The prospect of designing the rules for custom rules-driven applications excites you, especially when it comes to insurance. After all, you already know which dependencies matter when a business applies for specialized insurance and have the domain experience to recommend consistency and compliance checks within a logic model. You're also not shy. You enjoy giving a good presentation-the thought of running a client-facing PowerPoint or workshop excites you.You know you don't know everything. You are good at asking questions to really get to know what a customer wants and needs. In other words, you're smart-and you speak both the language of business and the language of technical requirements-and you have the commercial insurance domain knowledge and technical skills to help digitally transform the industry you've spent your career in. Your impact as a business analyst mgm technology partners is new to DC-and America! They will divide their work between documenting requirements, creating and fact-checking database logic, and communicating, both with mgm developers and the customer. They will be the internal voice of the customer, translating their business objectives into technical requirements. Responsibilities Construct and analyze data models for custom underwriting software for commercial insurance clients. Document dependencies for common insurance underwriting challenges, like endorsements, appraisals, renewals, creating new lines, and making recommendations for inspections.
