Summary

This position reports to the Director, Appropriations Liaison Office in Justice Management Division's Office of the Deputy Assistant Attorney General/Controller (DAAG/C), performing activities necessary to meet the technical requirements of the Department's appropriation and authorization legislation.

  • Serve as a liaison with congressional appropriations committees and staff, resolving issues, submitting timely reports, and supporting approval of Department of Justice budget requests.
  • Provide authoritative findings, guidance, and recommendations on agency-wide programs.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on government programs and policies which are of significant interest to the public and Congress.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Appropriation Liaison Officer at (GS-0301-15), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade.
If you are a current government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade.

To qualify for the Appropriation Liaison Officer, GS-0301-15 you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the federal service which includes, but are not limited to the following: (1.) Working as a liaison with congressional appropriations committees and staff, resolving issues, submitting timely congressional and supporting the President's budget request in an effort to secure resources sought by the department. (2.) Providing authoritative findings, guidance, and recommendations on agency-wide programs.(3.) Provides expert advice and guidance on government programs and policies which are of significant interest to the public and Congress.
