Responsibilities

As a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist your responsibilities would include but not limited to the following:
  • Supervises the work of a team of lower grade Human Resources Specialists, sets and adjust short-term priorities;
  • Assigns work to team based on priorities, considering difficulty and requirements of assignments;
  • Develops performance standards and evaluates work performance of subordinates;
  • Provides leadership, vision, development and overall management of human resources management (HRM);
  • Develops and implements HRM policies and programs which supports strategic goals and objectives and the OIG mission;
  • Serves as an agency HR Representative in discussions, working groups, and formal and informal advisory forums;
  • Consults and advises senior management on recruitment, examination and selection processes, regulations, and requirements;
  • Oversees the human resources functions of the Office of Management and Policy (OMP) and assists management officials in resolving personnel inquiries and problems.

Qualifications

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following experience in advising on policies, procedures, and guidelines; providing advice/consultation on human resource solutions in the areas of classification, position management, compensation, and recruitment and placement.
