Responsibilities

As a INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Planning, organizing, and conducting research on specific intelligence issues pertaining to global biological threats to US and allied nations and on issues within broadly defined and interrelated areas of analytical concern.
  • Providing input to reports prepared for dissemination to the Agency's senior leadership and its personnel. Preparing briefings, written products, and demonstrations for DoD, disseminating current information through various written and automated means.
  • Monitoring current and future trends related to advances in the areas of biotechnology, bio-production processes, genetic engineering, bio-surveillance applications, and synthetic biology.
  • Tracking requests for information related to biological threats and/or biotechnology trends and ensuring fulfillment of all requirements submitted by Agency personnel, CCMD elements, and other customers.
  • Conducting research on various intelligence communications and database systems to fulfill requirements.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, and will typically be demonstrated by working at, or immediately below the level of the job being advertised, for a year or more. The previous work experience must clearly demonstrate the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Specialized experience required for this position is:
  • Performing all-source intelligence analysis for DoD, the Intelligence Community, or equivalent private sector.
  • Planning, executing, or analyzing WMD and counter-proliferation activities for US Government, non-profit or academic organizations.
Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively; therefore, the position is designated "key," which requires the incumbent, or designated alternate, to be screened from military recall status.
