We are currently looking for an experienced diesel technician/mechanicA' to join our team. This position will support the Site Development and Utility projects in the MD/DC area. We offer the new hire a positive work atmosphere here at our family owned business.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Repair of heavy trucks and construction equipment (ie, loaders, dozers, off-road trucks, excavators etc.), including removal of defective parts and installing new or rebuilt parts.Inspecting and lubricating heavy construction equipment in shop and at construction job sitesTest repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency.Make preventative maintenance checks and inspectionsTrouble shoot, diagnose and repairs electrical systems.Repair hydraulic systems.This position will also require a willingness to work under various site conditions and a readiness to travel to different project sites within the DC and the entire Metropolitan DC-areaStressing and adhering to a high level of safety on every jobsite and on every task.Ensuring vehicle and equipment productivity remains high on the project job siteA' MECHANIC CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:A minimum of five yearsA cents € (TM) experience on the repair and maintenance of light and heavy diesel fueled equipment (trucks, construction equipment, etc.) including mechanical and hydraulic systems and components and electrical troubleshooting.A good driving record Knowledge of the DC Metro areaHigh school graduation or (GED) equivalent, including the ability to read, write, and speak EnglishMust be able to work on Trucks (Diesel or Gas) & Repair Heavy construction equipment.Class B CDL required. Ability to pass pre-hire and random drug screens.Ability to be a team playerPHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout a scheduled work shift.Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.Must be able to climb ladders and/or steps on equipment to access areas to be repaired.Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl.Must be able to work in dirty, greasy, noisy, cold, hot and humid working conditions.Must have the ability to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height-and the ability to work on uneven surfaces and confined spaces.MECHANIC BENEFITS:Competitive PayPaid vacation-time (earned on weekly basis)Medical, dental insurance and vision insuranceSix paid holidays401(k) retirement program with company match Weekly pay Uniforms providedOvertime opportunitiesEOE
