Job SummaryPrice Benowitz, LLP is currently seeking an additional Litigation Legal Secretary to join its growing Personal Injury team at their Washington, DC headquarters. The Legal Secretary focuses on assisting with cases to ensure the efficient and timely processing of the different stages of pre-litigation.A' The firm covers cases throughout Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia and has a large inventory of cases that requires candidates with knowledge of and experience with these jurisdictions.Responsibilities and DutiesDrafting letters and correspondenceFOIA RequestsObtaining and organizing documentation required at different stages of the caseCoordinating Investigator to obtain photos of scene and witnesses statements when neededProcessing PIP/MedpayObtaining prior injury/medical and claims/lawsuits historyReviewing all medical recordsMaintaining regular contact with clientsNotice letter to Medicare/Medicaid and lienholdersDeveloping harms and losses with clientsDrafting and sending out a demand packageMonitoring receipt and processing of a demandPreparing closing statementsChecking account balancesProcessing disbursementPerforms other essential functions necessary for the success of the departmentQualifications and SkillsBachelorA cents € (TM) s degree preferred.Minimum of 2-3 years of litigation experience.Ability to manage multiple tasks, deliver results, and maintain quality while working under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.Ability to work effectively in collaboration with others.Demonstrated proficiency and experience with a broad range of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Strong research skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.Foreign language skills are a plus but not required.
