The International Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity-known as the Education Commission-was set up with a clear goal: to reinvigorate the case for investing in education and to chart a pathway for increased investment to develop the potential of all young people around the world. The members of this dynamic Commission include current and former heads of state, government ministers, five Nobel laureates, and leaders in the fields of education, business, economics, development, health, and security. Beginning its work in November 2015, the Education Commission brought together the best research and policy analysis to identify the most effective ways of mobilizing resources to help ensure that all children and young people have the opportunity to learn and gain skills. In September 2016, the Commission released its groundbreaking report: The Learning Generation, which alerts to the urgency of the global education crisis; identifies a number of areas for reform that need immediate attention; and chats a concrete path forward. Since its launch, the report has become the global reference for the sector. Currently, the Education Commission is fully dedicated to turning its recommendations into action.
