For more information, please visitA' . Position SummaryThe Controller is responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting, and reporting activities. The Controller will be involved in supporting presentations to the board finance and audit committees and will work closely with the senior leadership team.A' The Controller leads all day-to-day finance operations, including functional responsibility for accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants administration. The Controller will ensure that FARE has the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and conduct flawless audits. The Controller will work closely with program leaders and their staff, to educate them regarding finance and accounting procedures, and to explore how the Finance function can support program operations. In addition, this position will partner with the CFO, Sr. Director of Financial Analysis, senior leadership, and the Human Resources (HR) and Information Technology (IT) staff to enhance and better integrate finance, HR, and IT functions.ResponsibilitiesFinance and Accounting LeadershipOversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.A' Maintain proper approvals for expense and vendor payment processes.Coordinate all audit activity.A' Prepare an annual report that integrates FAREA cents € (TM) s results for the prior year in addition to the financial statements and key financial metrics, using A cents € ~best of breedA cents € (TM) nonprofit templates.Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of FAREA cents € (TM) s financial status.Assist FAREA cents € (TM) s leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; with the Sr. Director of Financial Analysis, administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.Support the CFO in reporting to the boardA cents € (TM) s audit and finance committees.Oversee all financial, project/program, and grants accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period; collate financial reporting materials for government, corporate, and foundation grants.Manage organizational bank accounts, ensuring proper approvals and controls are in place and prepare monthly/quarterly cash flow forecasting.Work with program directors and senior leadership to establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.Update and maintain the FARE Accounting Manual, including process maps for all key FARE financial processes and systems.Team LeadershipLeverage strengths of the current Finance team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities and develop and implement training programs in order to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals.Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.Partner in recruitment and hiring, the evaluation of staff performance, and recommends or initiates promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions.Finance/Accounting Team SupportEnsure that the portion of the Accounting Team budget and other budgets under his/her guidance adhere to the best of his/her abilities.A' Determine the most cost-effective methods of making purchases of goods/services including training opportunities: avoid late fees as much as possible: take advantage of discounts, etc.Represent the position of the Accounting Team on the appropriate cross-functional team(s) throughout FARE.A' Perform special projects as needed and/or requested.Participate in learning opportunities to enhance individual, team, and organizational performance. Share learning with others, as appropriate and some aspects applied to the improvement of the workflow or the overall workplace.Qualifications A' BachelorA cents € (TM) s degree in accounting (masterA cents € (TM) s degree preferred).CPA required.8-10+ years of progressively responsible accounting and team management work experience, in a non-profit accounting environment.A' Preference for prior nonprofit experience with significant grant activity as part of that organization.4-5+ years of experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors.Advanced proficiency with Intaact software or related software.Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook), with advanced knowledge of Excel for accounting.Advanced proficiency with , Nexonia, and Salesforce or similar software.Ability to work with senior leadership and executive teams to work through complex financial scenarios.Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers.Able to perform in a team-oriented environment.Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.Proven ability to maintain accounting and business process skills with continuing professional education.Travel RequirementsThis position may require infrequent travel.A' Career LadderThis position typically has the following career ladder:ControllerChief Financial Officer
