Job Announcement

Seeking a dynamic, technology driven leader and strategic level multi-disciplinary IT technical expert to serve as one (1) of three (3) Deputy Directors, reporting to the Director of Information Technology (DIT)/Chief Technology Officer, in the capacity of DIT's Chief of Staff and the Chief Technology Architect. Oversees and manages several divisions and functions in DIT. Provides oversight for the daily operations, coordinating the activities and staff across the various divisions in DIT, to include applications development and several related specialty practice areas. Responsibilities include:
  • Ensures seamless implementation and process for deploying technology solutions across platforms and ensures operational reliability and continuity.
  • Manages, coaches and develops an assigned team of directors and branch managers.
  • Establishes priorities, implements and manages a skills management and competency development process for IT staff.
  • Acts as an integral part of the CTO's leadership team, working closely with other IT and business leaders to develop and execute IT programs.
  • In the absence of the Director, may be designated to serve in that role.
  • Stays abreast of IT trends and developments and incorporates new ideas into planning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to: graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a master's degree in information technology, computer science, business, telecommunications, or a related field; plus ten years of increasingly responsible experience in applying information technology to meet the needs of a government or business organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Senior leadership experience in managing and providing oversight to multi-disciplinary IT technical professionals. Strong leadership and influencing skills within a complex, matrixed environment; ability to gain support and cooperation and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members to achieve results without direct organizational control. A consistent track record of translating a vision into execution in a dynamic, multi-faceted environment. A high level of comfort working with ambiguity or uncertainty and converting information into quantifiable concepts. At least five years of senior professional level experience leading a centralized IT operation in a complex organization, specifically with applications development, communications and/or multi-platform infrastructure disciplines. Experience desired includes interaction with senior level executives or elected officials.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
