Job Description:

The Benefits Analyst supports the administration of all aspects of benefits, from health insurance to retirement plans.

This position reports to the Director of Compensation & Benefits - Human Resources.

Qualifications:

Education: Minimum 2 years of college. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.

Key Competencies: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.

Essential Functions:
  • Administers employee benefit programs (for example, enrolling new employees and explaining benefit options in accordance with the plans) including daily processing of benefits in various systems (ACPS and vendors' systems) to ensure employees are enrolled in the appropriate plans.
  • Processes a variety of benefit information (for example, COBRA, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and retirement plan eligibility) to document and disseminate information to appropriate parties (internal and external).
  • Communicates with internal and external personnel (for example, responding to inquiries verbally or via e-mails/letters to employees, insurance carriers, and health insurance providers) on sensitive and often personal information to determine and administer benefit eligibility.
  • Establishes benefit files and records; compiling and distributing benefit materials and reports; and responding to benefit inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources.
  • Maintains a wide variety of benefit files and records in accordance with administrative and legal requirements.
  • Prepares written materials (letters, forms) to document activities, provide written reference and/or convey benefit information.
  • Reconciles enrollment forms and billings to employee records (e.g. COBRA, retirement, health, etc.) to ensure accurate eligibility and payment information and comply with contract provisions.
  • Monitors assigned benefit program activities to ensure completion in compliance with established financial, legal and/or administrative requirements.
  • Performs other duties as may be required to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.

  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
  • Tuberculosis Skin Test.
