You will be the Estimator overseeing the new construction of federal government buildings. You will a apart of the full project life cycle. Client Details My client is a well respected Mid-Atlantic General Contractor with over 15 year's in business. They are a Construction Management Firm specializing in Public Work, Higher Education, and Commercial construction. Description A few of the Key Responsibilities for the Estimator: Sources leads, screens bid requests for best match for company and prepares bids for commercial and multi-family projects typically ranging $1M - $10M toward annual revenues greater than $30M at acceptable margins. Attends pre-bid meetings, conducts site inspections, evaluates specifications, prepares RFI's and collects adequate data to determine bid/no-bid decision. Stays informed of most current product, systems knowledge, industry practices and technology tools. Conduct take-offs, evaluates specifications, considers past performance, source subcontractor bids and develops preliminary project schedules generating accurate and complete competitive bids. Teams with project executive in the negotiating buy-outs and most favorable contract terms. Facilities pre-construction process from award through hand-off to assigned project team. Ensures up to date, complete and accurate records, budgets, schedules and entries into project accounting and management systems. Exercises care, good judgment and risk reduction practices to protect interest of company and reduce potential liabilities. Profile Qualifications that make up a great candidate: A proven background in estimating within a general contracting environment. Proficient understanding of building codes, construction divisions, developing schedules, project critical paths, material procurement, etc. Excellent math, formulation, mechanical aptitude and configuration skills. Attention to detail, organization and effective time management skills. Proficient use of estimating, scheduling and project management software. Excellent communication, negotiation, problem solving and relationship building skills. Effective ability, temperament and skills tor resolve conflict, work effectively under pressure and adapt effectively to changing conditions and diverse cultures.
