Position Summary To serve as a Mammography Technologist for the Department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. Perform mammography procedures. Must be able to manage at least 5 imaging patients per day. Assist in efficient patient flow and high level of patient service. Prepare and review final report and billing documentation. Facilitate referral, scheduling and follow up care with external and internal providers. Calculate, administer and document isotope dosage per clinical standards. Oversee handling, storage and NRC regulatory compliance of isotope materials. Maintain knowledge of radiation safety guidelines. Participate in coordination and conduct of clinical research. Record and manage research data. Update databases and learning files. Assist in presentations of research data and findings. Copy mammogram films as needed. Should need arise for coverage, initiate cross-training and/or education in Bone Density technology. Assist in performing patient testing. Performs other duties as assigned. Education Must be a Registered Mammography Technologist Experience At least one year of relevant clinical experience is required. Training will be offered in specific nuclear medicine camera operations. Competencies Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner. Must be able to follow and understand instructions, and react favorably in all work situations. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people at various levels within and outside the MFA.
