Apex is seeking a Surveillance Systems Engineer to support our FAA client in the planning and execution of the agency's radar divesture program. The successful candidate must previous have previous hands-on experience with the installation, testing, and/or removal of FAA surveillance systems in the National Airspace System. The successful candidate will: Manage the implementation related activities associated with executing the radar removal project. Determine and convey any operational and system impacts associated with radar removal. Manage the planning and organization required to remove primary and secondary radars from the National Airspace System (NAS). Identify candidate radar sites for removal and lead the development of a transition plan to document the required steps to successfully remove the radar from service. Organize and lead the coordination of site surveys at impacted facilities. Work with Air Traffic, Technical Operations, Engineering Services, the Program Management Organization, and other stakeholder organizations to execute the radar removal project. Actively participate in the program management responsibilities such as schedule development, contract management oversight, earned value management input, internal program reviews. Serve as the implementation point of contact for the radar removal project. Qualifications: A BS in an engineering discipline or in a technical field, is required. Minimum of 10 years related professional experience, with at least 5 years of experience working with FAA stakeholders such as air traffic and technical operations Experience with developing project plans Experience writing and evaluating equipment disposition plans Direct (hands-on) experience with the operations, installation and/or decommissioning of FAA surveillance systems (ie ASR-8/BI-5, ASR-9/Mode-S, ASR-11/MSSR) Excellent communication skills Ability to satisfy FAA resume and security processes Travel requirement: 25% EEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
