Position Description: Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking a SchoolPsychologist. The School Psychologist isresponsible for providing on-site psychological services to those applicable underthe jurisdiction of the state and client. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Completes multi-factored evaluations (initial and re-evaluations) incompliance with stateregulations with in a designated time frameConducts pre-referral consultation/intervention, including but notlimited to:Being a standing member of the pre-referral team within the assignedschool(s)Observing the student(s)Serving an assessment specialist who may do any or all of thefollowing:Screen at-risk children for interventionMonitor progress during interventionAssess instructional strategiesConsults with teachers to add instructional strategies/interventionsMonitors response to curriculum modificationServes as an instructional intervention specialist who plansintervention and individual educationPyscho-educational assessments shall include:Norm referenced test that measure intelligence, visual motor skills andfine motor skillsInterviews with the patient and/or individuals familiar with thepatientObservations of the patientConsults individually, or in groups, with patients and/or parents orother personnel on matters relating to the education and mental health of the patients to ensurethe development and provision of the most appropriate education programMaintains a monthly Pyscho-Educational Evaluation log for each month ofserviceReviews research in current best practice and presents recommendationsto client for review and potential implementation as requested, including staff training programson the basis of all necessary curriculum components and implements orsupervises the implementation of interventionParticipates in on-going training/in-servicing related job dutiesConsults with teachers and other team members on an ongoing basisServes as a technical assistant for the support of implementation ofRTI in the assigned schools (if applicable)Conducts an evaluation of each student assigned which shall include,but not limited to:Conducting pre-diagnostic meetings in order to determine scope andsequence ofneeded evaluationsInterviewing the studentObserving classroom behaviorsConsulting the student's parents and teacher(s)Reviewing the student's academic history and current educationalfunctioningConducts psycho-educational evaluations of the child's learning processand level of educational achievementAdministers specialized evaluations specific to the nature of thechild's problemsConducts Functional Behavior Analysis for student, if requiredHelps create Behavior Intervention Plan for student, if required(consultation with team members required)Attends pre-referral and screening team meetings in buildings assignedEnters information regarding the psycho educational evaluation on CRTat least 24 hours prior to the extended IEP team meeting (as applicable per client/staterequirement)Participates in the extended IEP team meetings and other suchprocedures as necessary, including manifestation determination review meetingsAs part of the team, determines the nature of a child's problemsthrough a full case study evaluation. When necessary, the Psychologist participates in:Parent conferencesClassroom observationsConsultations with local agenciesExtended IEP team meetingsCase follow-upsConsultations with teachers, the other diagnosticians assigned to thecase, supervisors,and social workersAttends PAEC meetings, completing psychological evaluation reports, andscheduling/chairing pre-diagnostic meetings (PDM's)Participates in other duties based on the needs of students andprograms.
