Main Street Director of Operations and Membership Operational Management Implements and fosters adherence to established policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols Structures and leads teams to deliver outstanding member services Builds and maintains strong member relationships Improves coordination and communication across the organization to increase effectiveness and efficiency Actively engages Directors in the development of goals, tracking progress toward goals, and increasing their effectiveness and efficiency as leaders Guides and directs Directors in achieving and maintaining departmental objectives, budget expectations and quality Directly supervises the Office Manager Functions as a resource to Directors by staying current with emerging trends in the field Provides coverage for Directors when necessary Monitors and implements best practices to ensure intended outcomes are achieved Develops thought leadership around specific topics/emerging practice areas. Shares in knowledge dissemination, reporting, and communications. Assumes leadership of organization when the Founder is absent or is unavailable and ensures smooth operations of the organization External Relations Represents MS and presents at community-meetings, conferences, professional associations, boards, task forces, and other public venues, as needed. Participates in MS sponsored events and outreach efforts. Collaborates with Director of Community Relations and Outreach on communications Attends MS events Evaluation and Reporting Provide regular reports to Founder, regarding specific programs, highlighting areas of excellence and areas of concern Identifies best practices and improves internal systems with an eye toward future needs and budget realities All Things Membership In collaboration with CR Ensures that membership benefits are clearly presented through all MS digital and publicity channels internally and externally In collaboration with the Community Relations and Outreach Director (CR), reviews and develops membership communications materials including pricing and benefits Manages membership application process In collaboration with CR and Program Coordinator, oversees the onboarding process and ensures all members have a positive experience Serves as the primary contact for members Develops membership retention strategies and targets and manages the delivery of campaigns designed to retain existing members Oversees all renewals and renewal communications Leads the planning and delivery of member specific events in collaboration with other department heads Works with the Programming Director to ensure that membership events are coordinated with regularly scheduled programming. Synthesizes membership data into regular reports for management and board Collects, analyzes and reports on member feedback Evaluates and reports on the effectiveness of all membership related efforts Maintains a strong understanding of membership practices and ensures the implementation of the stages of member management and process. Qualifications : Graduate degree in business, management, human resources, or related field 7-10 years of operations or member management experience in a relevant field Demonstrated track record of excellence in; Operations management in a nonprofit environment Fiscal management and budget development Strategy to action planning and tracking Leading an organization to meet goals Process improvement Project management Human resource management Strong executive leadership and organizational skills Success in roles requiring execution of multiple tasks while responding to multiple priorities Proven supervisory skills and ability to manage cross functional teams Excellent time management and problem solving skills Excellent communication skills, written and verbal Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array of people Collaborative and confident Computer proficiency Self-starter, self-disciplined
