Washington Episcopal School is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to add to our team of Business Office Professionals. We are looking for someone who welcomes a challenge and is detailed oriented. Major responsibilities of the position could include, but are not limited to: Perform and review daily transactions related to cash reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank account activity, recording of revenue and expenses Prepare semi-monthly payroll and payroll journal entries Monitor daily bank activities and perform bank reconciliations Review general ledger account reconciliations on a monthly basis, including Fixed Assets Assist with monthly closings and preparation of financial statements Smart Tuition transactions, the School's tuition billing system Post all gift revenue, working with Development Team with reconciliation of donations Account for all revenue accounts inclusive of tuition, gifts and other miscellaneous revenue streams Assist with preparation of required documents and information for annual audit Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting Three to five years of experience. Preference given for experience in an Independent School Dependable with high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving skills Must be able to work intuitively and independently as well as part of a team QuickBooks experience High proficiency in Excel Smart Tuition experience beneficial Now in its 34th year, Washington Episcopal School is an independent, co-educational school for students from Nursery through Grade 8.
